The key mathematical problem of factoring the large prime numbers looks close to solution through a specialized module with this new item. The encryption mechanisms used by traders in vpn, brokerage and messaging would not hold security forward or backward. How will this change the trading business?

Civilian encryption is a mirage. Snowden’s leaks demonstrates this. NSA (or other intell shops) don’t need special math to crack civilian encryption because they can hijack the RFC process that vendors use to implement encryption in their products. Once an RFC is “finalized”, NSA hijacks it– they can embed code to create the basis of encryption (seeds) and keep VPN tunnels intact while intercepting in the middle of the tunnel… (Snowden’s leaks are astonishing on this front, but not mathematically astonishing– which is the theme I used the think NSA embodied– alien-smart use of advanced math. Alas, it’s just common cheating of the RFC process…)

But I think your question is a bit understated in light of recent events. With enough Qbits operating together, (note: GOOG/DWAVE can’t do this yet…) it’ll be possible in our lifetimes (next 30 years) to predict the movement of every particle in the universe– and in that sense– the future will be “known” with a probability we can’t fathom right now.

So how does that prospect effect the trading business? How would the omniscience of God effect trading?
