Credit Reports
9/06/2005
On credit reports, by Jeff Sasmor
For those within the USA, as of Sept. 1, 2005, everyone is entitled to a one free credit report from each of the three credit reporting agencies.
But it's not easy to find it; you have to wade through sites offering you expensive credit monitoring services replete with useless identity-theft insurance, etc.
It's a good idea to rotate through the three companies, one every four months.
Here is a link you to one of the three credit reporting agencies. Look out for little checkmarks on forms that will opt you out of them selling your email address to third parties. And they'll try and sell you other stuff. But you can get the report for free.
