Sophia Loren
It's interesting to consider why Sophia Loren was one of the world's most beautiful women, despite having a combination of non-standard facial features. The point is that they combined together well, something which contains important lessons for the chess player.
It's not good having an abundance of creativity if you don't have the analytical skills to sort the wheat from the chaff - you get too many questions and not enough answers. Neither is it good to play sharp Sicilians if your strength is in quiet positional games.
The aim should be to achieve a balance whereby different facets of your game work together well and produce synergy rather than dissonance. The key for achieving this is simple, though for many quite unpalatable; you need experience and to work hard, and then things start to come together.
Time to make the call, but it would have been better if I'd done it last week.
