The Soybean and the Clitoris
From: Ken Smith ( 2/21/4 12:19)
"Mach's principle" a hypothesis first stated by Ernst Mach in 1893, states:
"The
inertia of any system is the result of the interaction of that
system and the rest of the universe. In other words, every
particle in the universe ultimately has an effect on every
other particle." http://tinyurl.com/2hl4g
The good doctor Niederhoffer has spoken many times and written
too, about the interconnections of things, of everything being
interconnected in the market. The interconnection hypothesis
was explored in 1893 by Mach, the scientist who also explored
the sound effect of projectiles at velocities. More recently
we have heard of the `butterfly effect' which assumes a
butterfly flittering in the air above the waves on the Sea of
Japan affects
the weather at the corner of Wall and Pearl in New York City.
Albert Einstein wrote an obituary for this
philosopher/scientist in which he said:
"In him, the immediate pleasure gained in seeing and
comprehending - Spinoza's amor dei intellectualis - was
so strong that he looked at the world with the curious eyes of
a child until well into old age, so that he could find joy and
contentment in understanding how everything is connected."
[The Expanded Quotable Einstein]
I can understand this hypothesis. It means I cannot piss on
you without also pissing on myself. It means, in
Einsteinistic, everything is connected, even past, present,
future. In a sense it means the same as the
popular adage "What goes around comes around."
As Mr. E posts today, the population of China increases
and the demand for soy beans in Brazil increases
proportionately; in fact, due to greed the demand may exceed
the supply and be disproportionate. The fear induced by
shortages creates a desire to get mine before you get yours,
to get mine before you exhaust the supply.
This in turn creates a turmoil on commodity exchanges. Banks
advance loans to finance traders. Traders takes sides. Some
lose some win in the betting and leveraging. It all connects
with the rate of virus growth in the soy
crop, the rainfall in soy crop areas of the world. It
connects with the physical health of crop workers - if they
suffer a plague then crops will not be harvested.
In general kindness beget kindness; not always because I have
met and lived among guys for whom an exhibition of kindness
would only indicate weakness and it would be taken advantage
of. In general, however, human nature
responds in a positive way to kindness.
I was in Safeway store yesterday and the register clerk was
obviously a happy person. He smiled at every patron and it
was clear he enjoyed his work. I remarked on his demeanor and
his happy smile. And I said, "I have
often thought to go to a school of drama and have them teach
me how to walk down the street and smile at everyone." He
replied: "It works. It is catching; others will respond
likewise."
So a smile is like a butterfly. Everything is connected.
Smile and the world smiles with you. "Smile when you are
feeling blue, smile, it's the thing to do." Everything is
connected.
In behaviorial psychology they claim one can change behavior
and character merely by a consistent practice of the behaviors
that are opposite the behavior that is problematic. They
claim it works. I tried it with depression, however, and was
not successful. I do see their point. If everything is
connected then behavior and emotion are connected. If
behavior is changed then emotion should reflect that change.
Sex is a butterfly too. Massaging a breast, mouth-to-mouth
kissing, rubbing a clitoris, a kiss at the nap of the neck, a
foot rub, a strong hug, nude breast to breast; these are
behaviors connected to emotions, given an
emotion can arouse body parts. And we men know how fellatio
given by a sexually sophisticated woman can arouse our
emotions. Everything is connected.
Inspired by the above post, an anonymous Spec was moved to write a haiku:
Soybean
under the hood
Rooted in the universe
The romance is gone
